The Special Education DataBook

Purpose
In accordance with Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) 2004 statute, Section 618(b), data required to be collected under Section 618 (the number of students with disabilities receiving special education services by age, disability, gender, disability category; the placement or educational environment of students with disabilities, etc.) must be publicly reported by the State in a manner that does not result in the disclosure of data identifiable to individual children.

The Texas Education Agency Division of IDEA Coordination has developed the Special Education DataBook to meet these federal reporting requirements. The Special Education Databook consists of high-level, statewide reports that provide three years of demographic and placement data.

Access
The Special Education DataBook is not password protected, and thus is accessible to the public. There are no confidential data disclosed by the reports in this system.

Browser Requirements
The Special Education DataBook was designed for Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 and higher. Though the system may function on other browsers, it was not designed for nor tested on any browser other than Internet Explorer. If you do not have Internet Explorer, you can download it from the Microsoft Internet Explorer website. Note also that client-side script (Javascript) must be enabled in your browser settings for the DataBook to function properly.
